Kelly Oubre Jr. has been sidelined for ten days now due to an accident involving a hit-and-run case. After initial examinations, the guard was set to sit out games as he recovered from some fractured ribs. He has missed five games so far. Fans have been curious to know when he will be returning and it seems like we finally have an update.

While talking to the media, head coach Nick Nurse was asked whether the 27-year-old would be ready to play anytime soon. He replied, “Yeah, there might be a chance. I think we’re in a stage where we’re not sure how he’s gonna handle the contact part of it.” Nurse confirmed that Oubre’s participation in games would depend on how well his body can handle the physicality and contact of the game.

Despite his injuries, Oubre is still reporting to the practice facility to ensure that his body is still fit and he can return to playing as soon as possible.

ESPN reported that on Monday, Oubre Jr. joined the team for on-court workouts. The shooting guard will be examined later next week, and his return to court will be determined then. In the meantime, his case is still being investigated with no video footage found of the incident. While the businesses in the area have been co-operating with the officials to ease the process, none of them have been able to provide clips.

The entire situation has left many wondering what actually happened to Oubre Jr. But the support for the New Orleans native has been consistent. Philly guard Tyrese Maxey even dedicated his career-high 50 points to Kelly saying, “Man, this had nothing to do with me. This is all Kelly Oubre, man. We’re praying for him and love my dog, man. I just met him but I love him. I hope he gets better soon.”

While they have been able to pull themselves back again, his returning to the hardwood is crucial.
