Samsung has reportedly confirmed that it will push the annual Galaxy Unpacked event for premium devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 forward to July in 2023, as opposed to its traditional early-August window. Now, according to some new leaks, this may be due to the launch specifically for the US and Canadian markets that will be occupying that time-slot this year.

Samsung typically presents its final round of flagship smartphones and/or tablets for the year during a Galaxy Unpacked event, thought to have been re-scheduled for the end of July rather than during the second week of the next month as usual. However, according to a new rumor, there may in fact be 2 versions of this event: the more “unique” version destined for the Gangnam, Seoul venue of CEOX, and one set for the more traditional date of August 11 after all.

The first of these is now believed to be the “global” version of Unpacked 2023, whereas the second is intended for a North American audience specifically. This leak invites speculation that Samsung plans to bring an amended list of its latest high-end mobile offerings to that market.

For example, it is possible that the OEM might plan not to sell factory-unlocked units of the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Z Flip5 in North America this year – or, just maybe, sell them in region-exclusive SKUs or configurations. In addition, there is no evidence that the “Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra” and its siblings will not make it to the US and Canada in 2023.
